A new website layout can work well. The freshness it brings can generate more interest from the online viewing audience - provided that content is updated as well. It's a good move to do both at the same time to create a bigger splash online.

Nice! I like the color combination. It’s very attractive and the header clearly shows what the website is all about. I suggest you add a slide show of Maria’s photos. That will definitely add more flair to your site. =)
